Examinations

After the first consultation with the doctor further examinations are often needed to clarify the causes of the symptoms. These might include:

Blood samples: These are taken at the different laboratories served by the Capital Region of Copenhagen (RegionH). This is a link to the web page with addresses and opening hours for the laboratories you can use.

Imaging examinations: Some times a scan is needed, e.g. an ultrasound examination of the abdomen or a computer tomography scan (CT or CAT scan). In that case, you will be referred to a radiology clinic in Copenhagen. We will have the result transferred electronically to our patient care system and will give you the result of the examination and discuss the plans with you.

Endoscopies: We do endoscopies at the clinic: gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy. The waiting time for endoscopies is short and you will have the result of the examination from us. The doctor will tell you how to prepare for the examination.
